Cleer Waters

Notes from Gods waiting room .........

Originally from Port Talbot, Lee Waters is 24 years old and is an exiled Swan living in God's waiting room, Bournemouth.

He has been following the Swans since 1992, a season ticket holder right up until moving to go to the University of Plymouth.

Although not as experienced as some contributors to the site he has seen the Swans go to Wembley (twice), St James' Park (Newcastle) and St James Park (Exeter), plus many others. Enjoys taking a sideways look at life and football.

The Relegation Battle

First of all I would like to say sorry for not contributing to the site for so long. I have been keeping one eye on the results, more recently hidden behind my hands!! Things are not looking too good for us at the minute (understatement of the century).

However I believe (for a definition of the word “believe” see “hope”) that we can stay up, we will have to use all of the luck that Brian Flynn doesn't believe in. There are a number of scenarios that can lead to this event:

  • We could win a number of the remaining games, therefore giving us enough points to stay afloat! (For those who have forgotten, a win is where we score more goals than the opposing team, unfortunately own goals do not count!)
  • Two teams within the entire football league could go out of business, this would leave the league two teams short, two teams would be promoted from the conference and the bottom two third division teams would remain in the division, everyone's a winner, apart for those who have gone out of business, errrrrrrrr!!!!

  • Aled and his estranged father Tom Jones would combine their finances and pour their money into…………..the Football League, Shock Horror. In this situation they would ensure that Swansea City are included in the Premiership next

season. They could threaten Premier league chiefs with a 365day concert in the street outside the league head quarters, the combination of Aled's High pitch voice and Tom's shear volume and sex appeal would be enough to frighten Sadam into submission

I am sure that there are plenty of other scenario's which can help us, answers on a postcard. Honestly though I sincerely believe that we will stay up in some form or another. Sick and uncharitable as it may seem if it means that York have to go out of business then so be it, I would prefer it if it meant that we stayed out of the Conference.

I am not too sure about the rules but Flynn's usage of loanee's may be a little over reliant. It is my belief that he can only field two loan players in a game, there are plenty of freebies knocking about, Taribo West possibly moving to Barry is odd Gazza is looking to play in the LoW, I don't know about you but I would be happy to see either playing for Swansea, I believe that Lee Sharpe is available.

Wins breed confidence and confidence breeds wins, look at Liverpool this season, they started well then after a couple of losses their heads dropped and we all know the rest. However they are now experiencing winning ways and I think they will finish quite strongly.

I think that the board's decision to slash admission prices is admirable and should be congratulated. Hopefully some “stay away fans” will return to the Vetch and it also repays the loyal fans for their support during some of the most dismal games seen at the Vetch, as I mentioned in a previous article larger crowds can have a positive affect on the players. Lets keep our fingers crossed and hope that Flynny starts believing in luck.

By the way I am a pro-Flynn fan and believe that we should stick by him, we have had such a high turnover of managers over recent years, so changing the guard when things are not working simply doesn't work. If we do get relegated then it will not solely be on Flynn's shoulders, Cusack, The Board and the players have all added various problems. Just my tuppence worth!!

WHO ARE WE???
