Swansea v Nottingham Forest

Swansea entertain Nottingham Forest boosted by the return of captain Garry Monk and with attacking duo Jason Scotland and Gorka Pintado and defender Angel Rangel also battling to be involved.

Monk returns from a one-match ban after sitting out Tuesday's Carling Cup win over Brentford, while Scotland and Rangel have both overcome groin injuries.

The duo came off the bench to feature against the Bees and will now be pushing for places in the starting XI along with midfielder Shaun MacDonald.

MacDonald marked his first appearance of the summer in midweek with a brace of goals and could now come into contention against Forest.

Pintado, meanwhile, has returned to training after a spell out with a thigh injury and is in contention to make his debut.

But one man who will definitely miss out is defender Fede Bessone (broken rib).

Nottingham Forest winger Arron Davies is a major injury doubt for the trip.

Davies limped out of Wednesday's Carling Cup win over Morecambe with a calf problem and is now facing a race against time to prove his fitness.

Forest boss Colin Calderwood confirmed: "It looks as if he's got a slight strain in his calf. He obviously looks quite doubtful for the weekend.''

Calderwood will again be without Andrew Cole (calf), Joe Garner (knee), Paul Anderson (thigh) and Nathan Tyson (hamstring), but Kelvin Wilson should return to the side.

Wilson was rested in midweek and should face the Swans, while Lewis McGugan is expected to overcome a thigh injury.

Winger Lee Martin could also make his Championship debut for the Reds after joining on loan until January from Manchester United earlier this week.

Swansea v Nottingham Forest

Swansea City will be without defender Fede Bessone who broke a rib in Tuesday's Carling Cup win but Angel Rangel is fit.

Striker Gorka Pintado is close to a return while Jason Scotland may start.

Nottingham Forest's Andy Cole (calf), Nathan Tyson (hamstring), Joe Garner (knee) and Paul Anderson (thigh) are all out.

Arron Davies (calf) is a doubt but Lewis McGugan, James Perch and Luke Chambers should be fit.
