Shaun MacDonald
Profile provided by Andrew Thomas
Shaun is something of a rarity these days; a local boy who has come through the ranks and has stayed there.
An attacking midfielder/winger, Shaun has often showed potential, but can sometimes be pushed off the ball, although he certainly impressed against Brighton in the final game of last season. Appearances were limited last season by the form of Paul Anderson, Leon Britton and Tom Butler. Shaun is also highly rated in the Welsh U21 set up and he has a number of caps at this level.
Hailing from the Blaen-y Maes area of the city, Shaun enjoys nothing more than getting out and shopping in Tesco's at Fforestfach on a Sunday afternoon.

After initially breaking into the team during 2005-6, opportunities last season were limited by injuries, although when he did play Shaun looked skilful and composed.
He may find his opportunities limited over the next 9 months due to the quantity of midfield players on the books.
Shaun is unusual in being one of a select band of players with Sophie Gigg's mobile phone number.

Despite last season's target of playing in the odd League match, Shaun showed some of his potential by appearing in 8 League games last season. In addition to this, he also figured in 6 cup games.
Adaptable, Shaun has played at full back as well as in midfield and has looked at home in those matches. Hopefully, as one of the few Welsh born players in the squad, Shaun will make even more progress in the first team this season.
It is rumoured that Shaun's main ambition this season is to oust Alan Tate as the Swans most ginger player despite stiff competition from Garry Monk.
