Swansea hold Foxes to draw - Soccer Net

Leicester City 0 Swansea City 0

Swansea's pre-season preparations were handed a massive boost as they held a strong Leicester City side to a goalless draw at Filbert Street.

The behind-closed-doors friendly gave Swans player-boss Nick Cusack the chance to test his first-choice side against a Foxes XI that included former internationals Ian Walker, Dennis Wise, Brian Deane, Frank Sinclair and Paul Dickov.

The game was a hard-fought affair with defences generally on top and goalscoring chances at a premium.

James Thomas almost broke the deadlock when he saw his free-kick crash against the underside of the crossbar, but Swansea were indebted to goalkeeper Roger Freestone, returning from an ankle operation, after a superb save from Lee Marshall in the dying minutes.
