Orient 3 Swansea 1 | |
Orient 3 Swansea 1A disappointing display from the Swans gave the 875 travelling Jacks little to cheer about in an overcast day at Brisbane Road.Swans lined up
Neil Cutler
Lee Jenkins Jason Smith Alan Tate Michael Howard Leon Britton Roberto Martinez Lenny Johnrose Kieron Durkan James Thomas Marc Richards Apart from one Kieron Durkin 20 yard shot, the remainder of the first half was Leyton Orients' where they should have taken the lead after squandering a number of chances Swansea brought on John Williams after the break for Kieron Durkan. Williams created a chance after a good run straight from the kick off. Unfortunately this was one of very few bright spots in the second half. Orient the continued the second half much as they had finished the first and it was only a matter of time before they took the lead. Michael Turner duly obliged for the O's after a corner was needlessly given away from a misunderstanding between Tate and Culler. This should have spurred the Swans on, but they failed to get into the game at all. On 65 minutes the game was put out of Swansea's reach when Orient scored their third. A corner from the right taken by Matthew Lockwood produced a header for Chris Tates' second goal. Substitutions of O'Leary for Smith (injury?) and Watkin for Richards (out of sorts today) followed, but too little avail. Lets hope we can play a little better against Exeter.
