Swansea City 2 Southend 3
Western Mail
Eight-man Southend came from behind to lift themselves out of the Third Division's bottom two with a remarkable 3-2 win at Swansea.

James Thomas had put promotion hopefuls Swansea ahead with a 14th-minute header but the Shrimpers quickly responded through Leon Constantine.
Southend then looked to have survived the sending off of David McSweeney when Mark Gower put them two ahead on the stroke of half-time.
Yet United looked to be up against it when Jay Smith and Gower were also dismissed late on but, remarkably, Mark Warren bagged their third.

To add to the drama assistant manager Paul Brush was also sent from the dug-out. Thomas scored a consolation but it was too late.
