Norwich City 2 - 3 Swansea City - Match Report - BBCi
SWANSEA City stormed to their third away win of the season
in a pulsating encounter at Carrow Road.
But, surprisingly, there was no place for on-loan left-back Stephen O'Halloran, with Federico Bessone getting the nod. The Swans almost took the lead with just nine seconds on the clock, Jason Scotland firing a volley over the bar from 18 yards. But the rest of the half was mostly one-way traffic as the Canaries surged forward. Leroy Lita and Arturo Lupoli headed a string of chances over before the hosts' pressure finally paid off in the 28th minute when Lupoli slid home from the edge of the area. A dubious offside decision denied Ashley Williams an equaliser, but Jason Scotland hauled the Swans level two minutes before the break, the striker meeting Angel Rangel's low cross to fire home from six yards. Incredibly, Swansea were 3-1 ahead three minutes into the second-half. First Darren Pratley's back-header found the net via the head of David Bell in the 47th minute. And barely 60 seconds later, Ferrie Bodde completed a sweeping move which had started in defence to leave the Canaries stunned and the home crowd baying for the head of boss Glenn Roeder. On the hour, Norwich hit back when Rangel somehow steered Mark Fotheringham's pass into his own from 16 yards out. Both sides created a hatful of chances in a breathtaking last half-hour, but it was the Swans who came away with the spoils to sit just one point off the play-offs tonight.
