Shrewsbury Town 0 v 1 Swansea City

Swansea's new boss Alan Cork was celebrating his first win in eight games after Jonathan Coates sank the Shrews with a 73rd-minute matchwinner.

Shrewsbury played like a side with a massive hangover after their midweek FA Cup trouncing at Grimsby and never got out of bottom gear.

Jason Price hit the Shrewsbury woodwork in the first half and striker Tony Bird was twice guilty of glaring misses before Coates grabbed Swansea's decider.

The result will come as a blessed relief for Swansea following their off-field problems.
