Brighton 1 v 0 Swansea City

Video clip (341Kb) of Brighton's goal against us. (5/9/98).

Brighton's new find Gary Hart completed a rare hat-trick of league victories for the Seagulls. Hart, snapped up for £1,000 from non-league Stansted in the Summer, tucked home his third goal in as many matches to clinch a hard fought success for Brian Horton's side. Brighton had goalkeeper Mark Walton to thank for denying his fellow Welshmen a point. Walton somehow kept out a Steve Watkin header with 12 minutes left when the former Wrexham forward seemed sure to equalise.

GOALS 1-0 Brighton 36 mins Hart.
Atkinson floated a free kick into the penalty area, Allan headed goalwards and Hart nipped in between two defenders to score from close range
