| Swansea 1 v 0 Mansfield |
Towering hitman Julian Alsop kept Swansea's play-off hopes alive and kicking as he swooped late to nail The Stag's at The Vetch Field.
Town 'keeper Ian Bowling had looked like frustrating the Welshmen with a string of brilliant stops in the closing moments but up popped Alsop to send The Swan's fans home dancing in the rain.
The promotion seeking Stag's drafted in midfielder Lee Williams for Gary Tallon - the only change to a side held by Carlisle at Brunton Park last weekend.
There was an abundance of muscle but very little quality as relentless rain worsened a pudding of a pitch.
Mansfield skipper John Schofield worked tirelessly to spark eager front runners Lee Peacock and Tony Lormor, but despite a couple of early corners it was the Welshmen who carved out a cluster of long-range chances. Casey, and Richard Appleby both fired wide inside the first 20 minutes, before the flying Alsop almost broke the stalemate on the half hour.
But it was The Stags who threatened soon after the interval as Schofield pulled wide and Swansea 'keeper Matthew Gregg snuffed out a Steven Harper effort on 53 minutes.
Swansea roared back as the corners piled up, and on 68 minutes Welsh U21 international Jason Price infuriatingly toppled over when played in by Coates.
Town were indebted to 'keeper Bowling in the closing minutes as he kept the rampant Swans at bay almost single handedly.
But on stoppage time Alsop struck - side-footing home after Coates had ghosted past a couple of Stags.
