Listers' view #1 - Clive Hughes The game was played in very sunny weather and the pitch was in excellent condition. A gate of just over 2000 with an estimate 650-700 Swans fans.
The sunny weather gave the game an end of season feel to it with Mansfield not offering any direct attempts on goal apart from long range shots. The one exception to this was in the second half when Rog fumbled a corner under pressure and Howard having to head clear off the line, a heart stopping few seconds. Most of the game was played between the two penalty areas with the Swans outlet being the usual high ball upfield, but with no Jules there their defence dealt with the threat easily. There have been mixed comments about Walter's input against Torquay which I didn't see, but today I thought he was just not interested and the game passed him by. He had a glaring open goal miss about 5 mins from the end which would have eased our nerves but luckily we saw out the 1-0.
The team still are goal shy and nobody prepared to take responsibility and continue to want t Congratulations to Rog and the defence for yet another clean sheet equalling the record of 21 for the season, lets hope they beat it against Exeter next Saturday. The fans behaved inside the ground and no pitch invasion at the end which allowed the team to accept the applause from the fans. There were a few Mansfield fans hanging around outside but no trouble seen although sirens were heard and police horses moving away from the Early Doors pub at a fast rate. Hope everyone returned without any bother. With the results not going in our favour at least we can guarantee promotion at the Vetch in front of we hope will be a bumper crowd Listers' view #2 - Gary Martin Swansea kept up the pressure at the top of the Third with their xth 1-0 win of the season. Pre-match entertainment was provided at the Early Doors pub by a Morriston man swimming in the River Typhus alongside for a £20 bet.
Back to the frootball. Pretty to watch, it was not, but the result was huge especially with Rotherham and Northampton also winning.
JH stuck with the same line-up as last game but with Watkin starting instead of the injured Alsop. Swansea were looked the more likely to score and keeper Mimms did well to beat behind a wicked drive from Price in the opening minutes. Boyd was next to threaten when he rifled in a low skimming shot from a 35 yard free kick.
Swansea were't having things all their own way and Clarke started well in the middle for the Stags. Mainly through his intelligent probing, Mansfield forced several corners which Swansea had trouble clearing. Mansfield were content to limit Swansea to long shots on goal - but this proved to be their undoing. After 37 minutes, Nick Cusack picked up the ball a full 25 yards out and unleashed a low drive which just beat the diving Mimms but crept inside his right hand upright. The second half was as disappointing as the first from an entertainment point of view and Howard went into the referee's book for a trip when he was caught upfield and lost the ball. Freestone was relatively untroubled, but he did drop a ball under pressure and the resulting shot required Howard's presence to head off the line.
Coates provided a taste of deja vu when Mansfield were awarded a free kick yards outside the area. As the kick was taken, he encroached and was booked. The resulting retaken free kick was taken from a slightly more favourable position for the Stags but unlike the original memory, the ball sailed over the bar. With Mansfield pressing for an equaliser, Swansea found gaps in the opposition's defence with the best chance falling to the woeful Boyd. Needless to say he made a complete of hash the excellent scoring opportunity. At the final whistle, the jubilation of the fans was shared on the field by the hugging players - and John Hollins also came over to milk the applause for what has been a very successful season.

www.sports.com report Swansea took a giant stride towards promotion and the third division title with their second Easter win as toothless Mansfield's goal drought was extended to 655 minutes. But the Stags, also without a win in seven games, created the better chances and almost snatched a deserved point when Chris Greenacre's close-range shot was cleared off the line by Michael Howard.
The Swans' second win in nine games - their 12th 1-0 success of the season - was clinched by Nick Cusack's 37th minute strike, a low 22-yard shot through a crowded penalty area after a mix-up between Neil Richardson and keeper Bobby Mimms needlessly gave away possession. Walter Boyd should have calmed Swansea's late nerves, but with an open goal at his mercy he mis-kicked Steve Watkin's cross hopelessly wide.
The Swans, cheered on by 700 vociferous supporters, had survived an early scare when Mick Boulding's 20-yard piledriver on the turn flashed into the side-netting with keeper Roger Freestone well beaten. Swansea hit back immediately with an equally good chance of their own. Boyd's incisive pass sprung the offside trap and left Jason Price clear, but his drive was turned away for a corner by the diving keeper. Then in the ninth minute Boyd's low 35-yard free-kick forced Mimms into a second sprawling save at the foot of the post as the Swans revelled in the cup-tie-like atmosphere. But that atmosphere also lifted the Stags to their best performance since the Sky TV win at Rotherham in March. Boulding's near-post shot on-the-turn from Martin Garratt's corner was well blocked by the keeper, and the striker then headed Lee Williams' cross narrowly wide at the far post and Greenacre flicked Boulding's cross past the upright as the Stags piled on the pressure. The best chance fell to Boulding in the 33rd minute, his unchallenged diving header at the far post powering into the side-netting.
Mansfield were made to pay for the missed chances when Cusack snatched what proved to be the winner. The home side continued to carve out the better opportunities after the break. Greenacre's close range stab after Freestone dropped Williams' corner was headed away by Michael Howard and then the striker's drilled drive after a solo run was well held by the diving keeper. Mansfield almost found that elusive goal 13 minutes from time but Garratt's fierce drive was blocked in a goalmouth melee.
At the other end, Watkin almost secured victory but his shot was charged down by John Andrews.
