Swans on the net

Happy times are here again! With the two cracking wins over Cardiff and Stoke and an amazing fightback against Wrexham in between.

My website has some of the chants from the Cardiff game for download – and I know that these are eagerly listened to by those fans unfortunate enough to be living away from these shores.

Nick Rees in Russia, who wrote on this page in last Saturday's programme, has taken to ringing me on my mobile for live updates on the matches! I don't know what it costs him, but he tells me gets a kick out of hearing the live atmosphere on the North Bank at past midnight in Sakhalin.

Just as in real life, there's a keen rivalry on the Internet between the Swansea and Cardiff supporters, but we don't need police helicopters to watch over our electronic get-togethers! Having said that, the exchanges can be quite aggressive at times.

To try and bring both sets of supporters a little closer together, I decided to run a cross-club competition for members of both email lists. The competition entailed predicting the minute of the first goal and by which team; as a tie-break, the total number of bookings had to be predicted.

To my surprise, over 100 people entered – but the prize (a club t-shirt) went to a member of the Cardiff list. Still we won't begrudge them that – after we took all 3 points! Thanks to Mike Morris who runs the Cardiff list for agreeing to go half with me on the cost of the prize.

Once again, it was appalling to hear racist chanting aimed at the owner of Cardiff. To those who joined in, can I ask this question: what exactly were you trying to imply when you chanted "Owned by a Paki?"

Think about it. I have, and the only conclusion I can come to is that you think that for someone to be of Pakistani origin makes them an inferior human being.

Well I've got a chant for you … "You sad b*****ds".
