In this Christmas programme, I'll recap on the opportunities for Swans fans in Cyberspace - on the off-chance that you may have bought yourself or your children a computer recently.
First thing you will find is that there is no shortage of web sites dedicated to the Swans. This month, despite seeing the demise of the Mouthful of Lead site, has seen the emergence of yet another new unofficial site created by Ieuan Johns. The URL of this is http://www.comp.glam.ac.uk/students/Ijohns/SCFC/FrontPage.html
The online competitions that I mentioned at the start of the season, are now in full swing.
In the Predictascore competition on my site, the current leaderboard looks like this:
Scott Cleverly 68
James Walford 66
Gary Martin 64
Phil Whitby 62
Mark Goddard 61
Geraint Thomas 61
Alan Phillips (Oz) 60
Mark Evans 59
Owen Tucker 59
John Davies 58
In the Fantasy League competition on Phil Sumbler's site, the current top 10 is:
1 Phil Sumbler - Weston Wanderers 187
2 Richard Williams - Trevor Bond Is Gay 185
3 Aidan 1927 Club - The 1927 Club 184
4 Herman Nieuwenhuis - Herman's Zooitje 179
5 Zoe Coates - Zoepool are the best 173
6 Karl Allen - Swansea Glory 171
7 Chris Oesterich - Seven Aaargyle 169
8 Rohan Smith - Home Blokes 164
9 Mario La Rosa - Port Swans 163
10 Tal Wood - Lard Junkies XI 160
Some people have remarked at how well the organisers are doing in their respective competitions, but I can assure you that all is above board.
The mischievous choice of name for Richard Williams' team bears no resemblance to real life and Trevor Bond wishes it to be known that he is a raving red-blooded heterosexual! ;-)
Well that short tour should be enough to persuade you to go and get yourself a computer, but if finances do not allow, there's always the Cyberstop Café in Portland Street where half an hour's surfing will cost you less than the equivalent price of two pints.
Can I wish all programme readers and Internet supporters everywhere A VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY NEW YEAR.
