Adebayo Akinfenwa
Profile provided by Andrew Thomas
'Bayo' had an immediate impact following his arrival at Swansea, scoring the first ever League goal at White Rock in the 1-0 win over Tranmere Rovers.
An absolute monster physically, Bayo has forced his 16 stone frame straight through many League One defences last season. Despite his obvious bulk, he has remarkably good feet, although his aerial ability leaves a bit to be desired for such a big man.
Despite criticism that he is slow, he is very quick over the first 10 yards, its only on longer runs that his legs let him down.
Bayo gave a decent return on goals scored for the club, with 9 League goals in 29 starts and faring even better with 6 cup goals in 7 appearances.

Adebayo has signed for the Swans on a two year deal. He has shown that he can perform in League 1 by scoring 14 goals in 29 starts for a struggling Torquay United side last season. There will be a tribunal to determine the transfer fee, but will be substantially lower than the price asked by Rochdale for Grant Holt.
Time will tell how he fits in with partner Lee trundle up front for the Swans, but the signs are hopefully encouraging.
His team mates will call him 'Bayo', due to the potential problems of our Scouse contingent trying to pronounce 'Adebayo', and the effect of the ensuing hilarity at their expense on the rest of the team.
