Starting with Newcastle United where he came
through the trainee ranks, Richard struggled to
make a first team appearance and following an
unsuccessful loan spell at Darlington he joined
lpswich Town. Again, he found little success until
he joined Jan Moiby at the Vetch in August 1996.
In his four years at the Club, he has clocked up
nearly 90 league appearances as the new season
gets underway.
1999/2000
It was a difficult season for Richard for various
reasons. He struggled to find consistency
throughout and first team appearances were
limited. His cause wasn’t helped by injury, being
put on and taken off the transfer list, and receiving
a suspension for kicking a ball at a linesman in the
FAW Premier Cup.
