Dear John

Here's your chance to write to John Hollins about any Swans matter you like.

Each Monday morning, I will print out the week's comments and snailmail them to him at the Vetch. Any replies that I receive from him will be posted here.

John Hollins has contacted me to say that he will only reply to messages sent to him via the Swans Say message board on the official site. I will, however, continue to send him the messages you post here.

Dear John

Hello John,

Good win against Cardiff we should of won by ten goals in the end,
but a win is a win against them.

Good luck against stoke, and lets hope were in the hat for the next round
of the FA Cup.

Thank you Thomas Age (9)

Dear John

First of all I would like to congratulate you on the recent run
of results. Apart from the minor shock against Barry Town
in the FAW Premier Cup our recent results against Plymouth,
Peterborough, Millwall, CARDIFF and Hartlepool have been
exceptional.

I am a season ticket holder and can clearly see that you have
most of the players playing for you and for each other. The one
exceptin to this rule is Aidan Newhouse.

Following his poor form I am baffled by his appearance in the
starting line-up. He had an awful game against Cardiff and as
soon as he came off we looked a better side.

We have some top quality strikers at the club in Julian Alsop,
Steve Watkin, Tony Bird and Dave O'Gorman and yet Aidan
Newhouse still appears in the starting line-up.

I appreciate that I do not see him during training and cannot
comment on him here and also that there have been some
injuries of late, but even the youngster Jamie Davies has
done better than Aidan.

There was also a rumour circulating that he called Swansea
a "Slum-pit" and verbally bashed Richie Appleby, Tony Bird
and your good self.

I do not know whether this is true but if it is I think he should
never play for The Jacks again.

You are the manager however and I respect your decision.

You have now proven yourself to be a decent manager and
I wish you and the boys all the best for the future.

Hopefully soon we will be challenging the likes of Halifax at
the top and will be stillgoing in the FAW and FA Cup.
Good luck!!!!!!!

                  Tred

Dear John

I have over the past few seasons seen the good times
(Wembley), and the bad times ( I think now is a pretty good example ).
Through these past few seasons I don't remember a prolific goalscorer!

Once again I do believe that this is where our main problem lies, it may
seem that I am jumping on the band wagon, but our defence is holding out
without SkyWalker, so I feel that a loan signing in the form of a goal
scorer may be what we need to kickstart the season! On a different note I
feel you are progressing well and I hope we can stuff both Millwall and
Cardiff over the next fortnight!!

Dear John

Are you looking for strikers? Maybe you find someone from
Finland. Here are some tips:

Mika Kottila from HJK (very big fellow; two Euro League goals);
Saku Puhakainen from TPS (young, good pace);
Jukka Ruhanen from HAKA (speedy fellow);
Markku Huikka ROPS (Top scorer of Finish League last season).
And there are many young players who are very
promising. Come to see.

Dear John

We have failed to score in the last three league games. Ok, we
have come close - a perfectly good goal disallowed at Shrewsbury; hit the
crossbar in the dying minutes on Saturday, but the simple fact is we are
not good enough up front to mount a serious assault on this league. This
is sad.

Yes we seem to scoring goals and playing well in the cup competitions, but
surely promotion is paramount?

We may have a large squad of 29 professionals, but most of us agree we
really do need a loan signing or two to boost our league position and to
also hopefully wake up those who may feel they are doing enough in a white
shirt at the moment just to warrant selection every week.

Without wishing to dwell too much on the recent past, Jan Molby brought in
couple of loan signings at a time when we were better placed than we are
at the moment. Both Hills and Brayson helped push us further up and seemed
to add spirit and resolve to the team.

So what about it, John?

Are you prepared to delve into the loan market? Orient have taken Leo
Fortune-West, Cardiff have Chris Allen to name but two.

Are we going to soldier on with Watkin, Alsop, Bird and Newhouse in our
quest for goals?

Yours,

Dear John

I have tried to persuade my son that coming to see the Swans is
an exciting day out....but even I am finding that it's more fun watching
Cyril the Swan than watching the 22 players on the pitch.

Only Simon Davies, the Peterborough midfielder, came out of yesterday's
game with any credit. The Swansea players seem to want to hack the ball
forward in the hope that Watkin or Bird may get on the end of a mistake by
the Boro defence. Not once did the defenders or midfielders put their foot
on the bal and attempt to carve out an opening.

An example...... Each time Appleby got the ball yesterday 2,3 and
sometimes 4 players would surround him. This left a gap behind him which
the left back could have exploited....nobody there though !!! It all
seems so simple from the stands doesn't it ???

We'll keep coming back.... we always do!

Let's sort it out....3,700 supporters just about sums it up !!

Bye

PS - I also follow QPR.....perhaps I should start supporting Man Utd in
the hope that they will turn crap as well ?
