Unfortunatly, Earl suffered and injury which needed operating on, so was out until October 2003. This meant he was sent back to Turf Moor and missed the Southports relegation run-in. 6'2'' Davis is a powerhouse, a sturn tackler, good organiser and is cool on the ball and when under pressure. Earl also has played with Brad Maylett and Lenny Johnrose whilst at Burnley and has also had a loan spell Stalybridge Celtic.
