Re: Morfa
Hi all,

isn't that the old drawings of the Morfa stadium?
The new stadium is to be built on the other side of the river and not replacing the current athletics stadium which is now occupying the site shown in the drawings.

Unless of course, you know better!
Regards,
Greg

Re: Morfa Stadium
The architectural drawings of the new stadium look very impressive - I can't wait!

One point, however, which I would like to hear some comments on from those involved in the planning. I don't know if the drawings are just conceptual, or actually spell out what the whole development will look like, but they need to think harder about access for the majority of us who will be arriving in cars. This seems to be an afterthought in most new stadia design.

The drawings show just one access road to the stadium car parks, by way of two roundabouts. If and when we ever do get a decent crowd (!), I predict it will take hours to get away after the match.

I went to Middlesborough's Riverside Stadium a few years ago for a cup game. It's a fantastic modern venue with plenty of car-parking, but it took a very frustrating hour to get out of the car park afterwards via the one access point onto the main road - just like the Morfa drawings.

I predict that most people will be parking in that huge retail car-park on the other side of the river and walking over the bridge. Or will they have a 'no parking on match days' policy, like the area around the Britannia Stadium in Stoke, which houses a number of new hotels and pubs, all of which have bouncers on their car parks.

Anybody got any views?

Re: Coates & Todd
The best, most up-to-date, source for specific information about players and teams, in my opinion, is

http://www.soccerbase.com/footballlive

which shows nothing new for either Coates or Todd as of today.

Bitch, isn't it?

Re: Swans V Posh
Any idea when this game was/will be played? I thought it was last night. Anyone know any details?

Re: Cusack's competition for places
Here's part of the story of the Post/Swans friendly from their official website http://www.theposh.com

I guess it all depends on whose ox is being gored.
Best!

*** The Posh squad were put through morning and afternoon training sessions, sometimes working in stints as long as two and a half hours before facing Swansea City in a game played over three half-hour segments that ended up with an overall 5-4 victory.

'We finished the first half hour 3-0 in front with Neale Fenn scoring all three goals and this line-up looked very impressive. In the next 30 minutes we increased our lead with a goal from Francis Green before the final half hour turned into a bit of a disaster. We introduced a number of trialists and goalkeeper Dan Connor had something of a nighmare in goal.

'After Swansea pulled back to 4-3, trialist Fox grabbed our fifth goal before Swansea pinched a fourth in the dying seconds as Dan was tying to line-up a wall. But there were a lot of good things from the game and we also came through without picking up any injuries,' added Fry.

Posh did not play Richard Forsyth or Jason Lee against Swanses but both took part in all the Lilleshall training sessions and will get a first taste of action in the friendly games next week.

'Although several players have been training with us since the beginning of the month at their own request, because of the un-certainty over the future of the club we have had to tell them there is no future for them here. We want to concentrate on the squad we have and bring the best out of them,' said the manager***.

Re: pre match anthem
Perhaps the North Bank Song by Behind Enemy Lines? Or anything by the Sex Pistols, just a thought.

Anyone know if Todd or Coatesy have found themselves anything yet?
