James Thomas

2004/2005

Following his hat-trick against Hull to keep the Swans in the Football League, James started last season as the strike partner for Lee Trundle. Following a goal against Cheltenham away, James was substituted, for Trundle to score 3 goals to win the game 4-3. After this, Trundle became the undisputed 1st choice striker, and Thomas didn't seem to feature at all for a number of months. On his return to action following an injury to Trundle, James scored, and a return to form looked likely. Sadly this was not to be, and he looked a shadow of his former self.

On his day, James can be a hard working striker, good in the air and on the ground, with an eye for goal.

2003/2004

The prime example of local boy does good after his well taken hat-trick on the final day of last season against Hull- the goals that retained the Swans' League status. These weren't the only goals that James scored last season though- he finished as our top scorer following his long awaited return home from Blackburn.

He started the season with a bang, and didn't seem to be able to stop scoring between August and October, then following an experiment with him playing wide out on the left, he couldn't start scoring again. Despite not finding the net for a number of months, despite numerous posts and crossbars rattled, James never stopped trying, and it was a tremendous relief to Swans fans everywhere when he did eventually find the net.

A favourite with the Swans fans, he always sees to give100% in every game he plays. It is hoped that James and Lee Trundle will form an effective partnership this season to put the Swans into a position where they are able to challenge for promotion or the play offs.
