Kevin McLeod

Profile provided by Andrew Thomas

Probably the Swans' most controversial player last season. Kevin seemed to be on fire for the first couple of months, and able to do no wrong. He scored 7 goals by the mid September, and was top scorer for a while, as well as ripping various teams defence's to shreds and was rewarded by a new, improved contract which runs until June 2008. Loved by large sections of Swans fans for his 'swim away' goal celebrations, it seemed he could do no wrong. Then the rot set in!

A series of indifferent performances in November and December was followed by a groin strain. Eventually transfer listed by Kenny Jackett for a 'lack of application', Kevin almost joined Southend only for it to fall through at the last moment. To be fair, he pulled his socks up and forced his way back into the team before breaking his ankle- ironically against Southend at the end of the season. He once again worked hard, and came on as a substitute against Barnsley in the play off final at the end of May.

A real enigma, McLeod is probably one of, if not the most talented player at Swansea, but so often he lets himself down. Hopefully Kevin can ut his off field troubles behind him and once again become one of the Swans' most influential players.

When relaxing, Kevin likes nothing more than listening to his Frank Sinatra and Val Doonican collections.

2005/2006

A former room mate of Wayne Rooney, Kevin joined the Swans for an undisclosed fee in the middle of February in a double deal with Marcus Bean coming in on loan. Suffering from laryngitis, he failed to make a early impact, but did show flashes of the brilliance expected of a former Everton youth academy product.

Excellent ball skills when on form, and without doubt the best crosser of the ball at the club, both from set pieces and when he's running. Hopefully we will see the best of McLeod this season, where hopefully the better playing surfaces and improved fitness will suit his style of play.

His favourite form of transport is horse, and he enjoys wearing a sheepskin coat with stetson when riding.
