Richard Duffy
A versatile player, who can play anywhere along the back four. He made his senior debut for the Swans at the age of 16 in the FA cup tie at Macclesfield Town in December 2001.
He spent the bulk of the next season recuperation from a back operation, before eventually returning to training in January 2003, but didn't appear for the Swans as they were fighting league survival.
Richard made his break in to the first team in the 03/04 season and impressed whilst playing at right back. He got his first goal for the club again against Macclesfield in the Swans 3 - 0 win.
Harry Redknapp then came to watch the Swans in the away match against Northampton of the same season, and most people thought he was looking at prolific striker Lee Trundle.
But the performances from Duffy must have impressed Redknapp and Richard was brought by Portsmouth at the end of January 2004 for a fee in the region of £150,000.
He made his Premiership debut in May of the same year coming on as a sub for Linvoy Primus in the 22nd minute in their home match against Fulham.
Richard was very much a squad player and his first team opportunities had to come firstly on loan at Burnley where he has made 9 appearances, scoring 1 goal and on 3 separate loan spells at Coventry City where he has made in total 62 appearances. During this time he has also broken in to the Wales team under John Toshack and has got 11 caps.
Richard has signed a loan deal with the Swans going on until the end of the season to bolster the Swans defence.
