World Cup Winner From NeathSteffan Borland - 6 Years Old
When Pierluigi Collina blew the whistle to end the FIFA 2002 World Cup Final game between Brazil and Germany and start the delerium of celebration in Rio, there was another winner, and another celebration, this time in Neath.

The Brian Borland family of Neath were cheering because young Steffan had just won the "World Cup Predictascore" competition on the popular Swansea City website at www.scfc.co.uk.
The prize was a season ticket to the North Bank for all Swans home games, donated by Richard Keen Insurance Brokers Ltd, also of Neath.
In the website's World Cup Predictascore competition, which went on for a month, over 250 Swansea supporters from around the world submitted their predicted scores for every game. Five points were awarded for every correct score and two for each correct result, with one for entry.
It all came down to the final game with Steffan standing at 130 points, just two ahead of two other players. When the whistle blew, the important final score was not 2-0, but 132, 130, 129.
Steffan, who is 6, was helped in the competition by his brother Michael, 11. Steffan and his brother play football for the Cimla Youth F.C., and attend Crynallt Infants School and Cefn Saeson Comprehensive School respectively.
True Jacks, the boys were season ticket holders last season with their father, who has already purchased two season tickets for this season and was holding off on Steffan's because he was so close to winning his own.
Because Steffan requires only a youth ticket, he will receive a new Swans home kit to make up the difference. Plus he will also run out as team mascot at the home fixture against Torquay in September courtesy of Richard Keen (Insuarnce Brokers) Ltd.
Mr Gareth Keen also announced that, as part of Richard Keen Insurance Brokers Ltd.'s corporate sponsorship of the Swans, a block of 20 tickets has been set aside for members of Cimla Youth F.C. and their coaches and parents to attend a home game of the 2002-2003 season as guests of the firm.
When he heard the result, Mr Keen's reaction was, "Well done, Steffan. And to think this lad won out over all of us experienced punters. What a great competition!"
Steffan's reaction was, "YYYYYYYYYYES!" as he punched the air. His father reports that he did not pull his jersey over his head, however.
