John Hughes recently signed from Berwick Rangers. Born Leith, Edinburgh, 9.9.1964. 6' 13st 4 striker. Played for Leith Schoolboys and at 18 signed for NEWTON GRANGE STARS in the Scottish Junior League. After five seasons joined Berwick Rangers, Scottish League Division 2 and scored the only and winning goal against Queens Park at HAMPDEN.

after leaving Swansea ( free ) he signed for Falkirk and then Glasgow Celtic ( 500,000 fee ) where he was club captain and was selected to play for Scotland. His last game for Swansea was as a centre forward, he never played that position again reverting back to the position he obviously was best at - centre half after moving back to Scotland.
